Our organization was formed in 1993 as a German Karneval club specifically to advance cultural traditions, either directly or indirectly, through preservation, education, and charitable means similar to the celebrations around the Rhine River in Germany.
Spielmannszug MN is a part of a worldwide movement that exists to have a great time, promote and share German heritage and traditions and MOST IMPORTANTLY celebrate Karneval and Fasching season. In North America, Spielmannszug Minnesota belongs to GAMGA (German American Mardi Gras Association), which celebrates the heritage, traditions and fun in January in Las Vegas each year. The 28 member clubs come together from the USA and Canada.
